We’re just days away from IMPACT Wrestling’s biggest event of the summer, Slammiversary. The company will also be welcoming its fans again for the first time since the pandemic era last year.
With a total of eight matches confirmed to date, five of which will be title defenses, this is sure to be a must see event in the world.
One of the show’s most intriguing matches will be the IMPACT World Tag Team Match, which will see Violent By Design defend their titles against the Good Brothers, TJP & Fallah Bahh, and Rich Swann & Willie Mack.
There’s no doubt that the storyline lacks proper construction, considering their game wasn’t announced until last week. But the company quickly capitalized by hosting consistent foursome each week.
Keeping the ox of the story aside, all of the challengers are aiming for the tag team division top prize, which is enough to draw viewers into their match at the July 17 event.
Violent By Design, led by Eric Young, has remained dominant in defending their titles under free bird rule ever since. The IMPACT Wrestling Slammiversary event will also mark their two-month title reign.
Although VBD is heading into the game at a disadvantage, given that they won’t have to take the pin to lose their titles.
With that said, let’s take a look at the five possible finishes for the IMPACT Wrestling Tag Team Championship game at Slammiversary.
# 5 Violent By Design keeps its own IMPACT Wrestling Tag Team Championships
Based on the current booking from Violent By Design, they might be able to hold onto their championships without any interference from their team mates.
It should be noted that since the group led by Eric Young became the team champion of IMPACT Wrestling, the team division was lifted in no time. Not that the previous title holders haven’t done their job convincingly, it’s just that no team has a VBD-like IT factor right now.
Credit goes to IMPACT Wrestling star Eric Young for making this drastic change entering the tag team division. While he wasn’t physically involved in any of the title defenses, his very presence drew attention to their product.
VBD has only started to gain momentum as a faction, and they need to own this title more than anyone in this division. Losing them on Saturday will diminish the group’s credibility in the future.
Considering this, management should make their decision wisely and ensure that VBD retains its titles.
